June 2007 Update

All,

I've finally finished grading papers for THREE consecutive finals weeks at the three colleges I've taught at this past semester. Also, I've caught up with all of the other things on my to do list such as rebuilding all three of our home network computers (mine, my wife's, and the media center PC I've built and integrated into the living room electronics). I have a week before my summer session class starts, so I've finally been able to turn my attention back to my writing and to my blog.

I've finished my second book The Path Through Infinity's Rainbow, and am beginning the process of shopping it around to potential publishers. I will be resuming work on my third book Foundations of Infinity's Rainbow shortly.

Soon, I will post a new blog on this site. I'm thinking of expanding on John Michael Greer's current post (see Is History on Anyone's Side? at: http://thearchdruidreport.blogspot.com/2007/06/is-history-on-anyones-side.html).

My topic will focus on just what is meant by "the course of history" historical "inevitability" as well as the degree to which we can alter this "course". Are we talking about metaphors that define an intangible thing it terms of one that is tangible? Or are we talking about something quite real in its own right?

Of course this assessment will involve, in part, discussing systems theory, fitness landscapes, and strange attractors. These are concepts that I've discussed in chapter two of my current published book, however, I'll be looking at them in a somewhat different context this time around.
