It is fairly technical, especially the first two chapters. The second book is more general, less technical.

How do you get someone else to do something? I wish I knew a definitive answer. I'd start with myself and walk the walk so to speak. People usualy have pretty good BS detectors, so if you are going to talk the talk, you need to actually walk the walk to be cerdible. Once you establish credibility, at least some people begin to listen....

Comment on It's Now or Never.

Wow that was definitely not lite reading, but I was amazingly able to get through it. I might just have to go get your book now professor. Well it all makes sense and some will probably protest for whatever reasons - facts & figures, sources, etc. but it's true we can all feel something big coming and no matter how well we numb the feeling with pleasures such as money, drugs, reputation, etc. it will come. Sadly I feel that throughout history civilizations have proven that they like to learn the hard way. How do you get someone to stop buying so much junk or get off the T.V, limit cow product consumption, recycle, etc. without, metaphorically speaking, putting a gun to their head? And you are right it cannot be done without practically complete participation because apart from being selfish we are also jealous beings who care too much about "keeping up with the Jonses." Until we realize we are all in this together and comprehend the severity of the situation, which this paper helps with, a change cannot occur, but how do we get this to everyone? I am willing to do my part, although minimal, I know that by purchasing and consuming only what I need and looking for better modes of transportation among other small changes I can at least put in my two cents. We who are demanding change should first demand it of ourselves and maybe by example we could change our family, then our community, later our country, and someday the world.

Comment on Does the Outcome of the 2008 US Presidential Race Really Matter?

I went over this website and I believe you have a lot of good information, bookmarked (:.
